I looked through the the [1.12 Release
Announcement|https://flink.apache.org/news/2020/12/10/release-1.12.0.html] and
the corresponding [Release
notes|https://ci.apache.org/projects/flink/flink-docs-release-1.12/release-notes/flink-1.12.html]
but didn't find any hints that we have incompatibilities to previous versions
in terms of state.
