Writing everything right away would require: 1. Adding metadata (logId, keyGroup, seqNum) to each change 2. Generating seqNum for each change (probably not an issue) 3. Will make recovery less efficient and more complex Sending changes from here more often (when reaching some threshold); or immediately but still buffering before writing; could probably work but I have the following concerns: 1. can actually degrade performance by amplifying number of requests 2. if changes will be materialized be the time of `persist()` then we don't need to persist them 3. complicate error/retry handling logic 4. can we achieve this by more frequent checkpointing?
