[~jark] I would rather say that the runtime code of CAST is wrong in this case.
It should throw an exception instead of returning NULL. Because of this wrong
behavior there is a mismatch between logical type and runtime result. I don't
think that fixing {{SqlCastFunction#inferReturnType}} helps because you would
need to evaluate the function in this method.
