Hello,
I opened a PR for this issue on GitHub, we didn't reach consensus regarding the
implementation on the mailing list, yet. Since this is my first commit to Flink
and I might be unavailable later I decided to open one anyway. Feel free to
modify/discard it if it's not okay.
