@dawidwys I think @Jiayi-Liao 's PR is near to merge and you could then rebase on his changes to continue working on the feature of manual checkpoint only for tests. For the suggestion that initializing the base paths lazily within the `initializeLocationForCheckpoint`, I don't think this is a good idea as this should not be done on worker side.
