Till Rohrmann commented on FLINK-25302:
---------------------------------------

I like the idea of moving the release guide into the code base and linking to
it from the wiki. That way it will be easier to find and we can have different
versions (per release branch).

> Find a way to keep release guides for previous releases

> Key: FLINK-25302
> URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/FLINK-25302
> Project: Flink
> Issue Type: Sub-task

>
> The current release guide in the wiki tends to be aimed at the latest
> release. While there are notes for things like "starting from 1.11, do that",
> we will inevitable miss something.
> The history of the page isn't really usable because pinpointing which
> revision is relevant for a given release is impossible.
> To remedy this, we could archive a copy of the wiki page after each release
> as a form of snapshot, or embed the release guides into the relevant projects.
