[~guoyangze] Our plan was to work on a general failure handling for all
connectors in 1.16. While porting the Elastic sink to the unified Sink
interface we though it does not make much sense to introduce the failure
handling and immediately deprecate it again. Is this currently blocking some of
the users when they are trying to upgrade?
