[~melin] [~hackergin] Please open a discussion thread on the Dev mailing list
on this topic. It would be great if that would result in a FLIP
https://cwiki.apache.org/confluence/display/FLINK/Flink+Improvement+Proposals
with a concrete proposal. When that has completed, we can re-open the FLIP. We
should not have discussions in Jira, that's what the Dev mailing list is meant
for.
