@morhidi checkpoint interval often has a bound based on state size etc . In some cases it’s not viable to go below a few minutes but you don’t want to introduce a few minutes of lag if you don’t have to. Or in case of iceberg users may prefer to keep it higher . It would be strange to force a lower checkpoint interval to the user just because the operator is not aware of it.
