snuyanzin opened a new pull request, #22779:
URL: https://github.com/apache/flink/pull/22779
## What is the purpose of the change
The problem case for `array_union` is
```sql
SELECT array_union(ARRAY[CAST(NULL AS INT)], ARRAY[1]); -- returns [NULL,
1], this is OK
SELECT array_union(ARRAY[1], ARRAY[CAST(NULL AS INT)]); -- returns [1, 0],
this is NOT OK
```
the PR is going to fix it.
The reason of the issue is that element getter relies on the first arg of
`array_union` without taking into account the second one.
