I agree with points 2-6.
But I'm not so sure if I understand point 1 correctly. Why doesn't it work if
the {{HeartbeatManagerImpl}} implements the {{HeartbeatTarget}} interface? How
would you report heartbeats to the heartbeat manager if it does not implement
this interface?
