Thanks a lot for the detailed analysis.
The 1.17 javadocs also look pretty broken:
https://nightlies.apache.org/flink/flink-docs-release-1.17/api/java/example/avro/EventType.html
Ideally we integrate the javadocs build into our PR validation to avoid this
issue in the future
