I was wondering if we should change the connector identifier to not include the minor version, and be like `hbase2` instead. At this point I don't think the explicit minor version adds any value, but it requires a lot more maintenance. Then we could remove it from the maven , etc. Pretty much everywhere where it's hardcoded now. This should definitely not part of this change, i just started to think about it during the review.
