Hi Dennis, thank you for the thorough review! You're absolutely right, I jumped to a fix without fully verifying the code path first. The NaN path is indeed unreachable for running vertices. I've since identified the actual root cause: the operator ignores complete: false flag in the REST API response for vertex IO metrics.
