Ufuk Celebi commented on FLINK-5673   Re: NullPointerException in RemoteInputChannel.requestSubpartition The root cause of this is that a local cluster is started to which a remote task manager was added. This exception occurs, because the JM schedules a task to the "local TM" (running inside the JM process) that does not start it network stack. When the task requests its subpartition, this leads to the NPE. As part of this issue I would improve the error message for this scenario.
