Thanks for the probe and the control runs. I'd like to take this if no one else is working on it. It overlaps my open #1182, which reworks the same `try` block in `_record_call_completion` (payloads go through `_serialize_call_payloads`, and a detected Java interruption records nothing). My plan is to keep handling Python-side serialization failures there, but let an error from `recordCallCompletion` reach the caller instead of being swallowed, with a test that injects a persister write failure and asserts the durable call raises on both the sync and the individually awaited async path.
