spuru9 opened a new pull request, #29675:
URL: https://github.com/apache/flink/pull/29675
## What is the purpose of the change
`ChangelogCompatibilityITCase` fails on the release-1.20 nightlies for two
reasons: the checkpoint picked for the restore gets subsumed and deleted
(`FileNotFoundException ... chk-1`), and the JVM runs out of direct memory in
the Netty server, which shows up as `CheckpointCoordinator shutdown`.
## Brief change log
- Retain 10 checkpoints on the MiniCluster config, so the picked
checkpoint isn't subsumed while the job is cancelled
- Lower network memory from 64 MiB to 16 MiB per TM; each test case starts
11 TMs, and two cases' buffers together reached the 1536 MiB direct memory limit
## Verifying this change
Covered by the ITCase itself. Locally, peak direct memory went from 1535 of
1536 MiB (every run) to at most 1244 MiB over 40 runs, and a forced version of
the subsumption race fails without the change and passes with it. master has
the same code; happy to port it there too if wanted.
