Unchanged backport of https://github.com/apache/flink/pull/29660 (d8af3821bd9). With a quiet period of 0, Netty 4.2 can terminate an event loop without closing its channels if the shutdown starts while the loop runs tasks ([netty/netty#17897](https://github.com/netty/netty/issues/17897)), so `AbstractServerBase` leaked its listening socket and accepted connections, which made `AbstractServerTest.testPortRangeSuccess` flaky. The server now tracks its channels in a `ChannelGroup` and closes them before shutting down the event loops. On this branch, `AbstractServerTest` passes. --- ##### Was generative AI tooling used to co-author this PR? - [X] Yes (please specify the tool below) Generated-by: Claude Code (Claude Opus 5.5) 🤖 Generated with [Claude Code](https://claude.com/claude-code) -- This is an automated message from the Apache Git Service.
