fxbing opened a new pull request, #4619: URL: https://github.com/apache/flink-cdc/pull/4619
## What is the purpose of this pull request? Add `schema.evolution.auto-add-columns` so the Fluss sink can process column-addition events without issuing ADD COLUMN DDL. The option defaults to `true` to preserve current behavior. JIRA: [FLINK-41366](https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/FLINK-41366) ## Brief change log - When disabled, validate target columns during per-table initialization and forwarded ADD events, failing on missing or incompatible columns. - Refresh target schemas and column mappings after validation, including reinitialization after recovery. - Preserve existing schema-expansion modes, table creation and other DDL behavior. ## Verifying this change - Targeted tests passed on Java 11 / Flink 1.20.3 and Java 17 / Flink 2.2.0, including primary-key and log-table pipeline write/read tests. - Verified zero `alterTable` calls through the real metadata-applier entrypoint; bypassing the disabled branch makes the test fail. Spotless apply/check passed. - Recovery coverage includes serializer reinitialization and adapter-level event ordering. Full checkpoint fault-injection E2E was not run. ## Documentation - Does this pull request introduce a new feature? Yes. - If yes, how is the feature documented? English and Chinese Fluss connector documentation. ##### Was generative AI tooling used to co-author this PR? - [X] Yes — OpenAI Codex.
