[~shijinkui] it looks like the objective is to tag the release. Since the
release is not a git repo the associated files (.gitigonore, .travis.yml,
.gitattributes, etc.) are deleted.
Why are you not working off the {{release-1.2}} branch or even
{{release-1.2.0^}}?
