I looked at the proposed patch and don’t really understand why there is one
profile to activate all vendor repositories at once (correct me if I
misunderstood the patch).
Either you are concerned about version clashes between the vendors. Then you
should have one profile per vendor. Or you are not concerned about version
clashes (e.g. because the vendors add their specific suffix to the version
number). Then I don’t see any reasons why we cannot activate the repositories
globally and have confusing configuration switch less?
