@polyzos for those mostly unfamiliar with azure (like me), and for whoever
picks up this issue: what are the advantages of using adls gen2 over plain
azure blob storage (cf. #1311)? from a quick online search, it looks like adls
gen2 adds a hierarchical file system on top of azure blob storage. in what
scenarios would a user prefer to use adls gen2 instead of blob?
i'm asking to better understand benefit for users and also to keep
implementation overhead low. ideally, some parts could be reused across both
adls gen2 and blob support.
