Issue Type: DEFECT
Summary: OOo 3 crashes into an endless loop on opening any
existing file
Classification: Code
Product: framework
Version: OOo 3.3
Platform: PC
OS/Version: Windows Vista
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: enhancement
Priority: P3
Component: ui
AssignedTo: [email protected]
ReportedBy: [email protected]
QAContact: [email protected]
After updating OOo version 2.4 to version 3 the program crashes into an endless
loop at all sorts of OOo files I try to open. All the times when I open a
document the program will crash into "repairing" the document, asking to sent a
crash report, repairing and showing te document, crashing again ... etc. etc.
Having used OOo for several years now, I feel sad not to be able to make use of
the version 3 upgrading.
So for I tried defragmentation, registry cleaning, reallocation of the Windows
Vista memory (Vista in control now), antivirus-, spyware- and
advertisementscans and reinstallation of OOo 3.3.0 + JRE several times with no
success at all.
Some other specs of my system:
Dell XPS M1330 laptop PC, fitted with dual core Intel processor T8100 32 Bit,
210 GHz, 4 Gb RAM of which 500 MB uses as a RAM-disk (Vista uses some 3,5 GB)
and a harddisk of 240 Gb.
All other programs are operating normally, including the pre-installed
Microsoft Office 2007.
The problem has been reported to OOo / Oracle, so far without a response.
In the end I deleted version 3.3.0 and re-installed version 2.4.0.
The old program is running fine now, but keeps telling me to upgrade to the
next version ...
Is there anyone else experiencing this problem with OOo version 3.3.0?
I do hope someone will come up with a solution.
