Check the task manager, Vista, fast, good, computer: Am having the same problem (on a fast computer, also running Vista - though mine's 32 bit). For a while I was getting an error message: "Another instance of oppenoffice.org is running. Do you really want to continue?" (When I had yet to do anything with oo) and then probably 40% of the time it, oo 3.3, just won't open. Checked the task manager, and sure enough it was already/still running; Closed it and, presto! all is well. Thanks for the tip on the task manager. Perhaps it's a problem related to vista not properly closing oo when I shut down while it's running.
