Arnout Engelen commented on GEODE-10501:
----------------------------------------

Not really, and Claude hasn't answered on
[https://github.com/eskatos/creadur-rat-gradle/issues/28] - while an
interesting rabbit hole, perhaps it's OK to leave this one as-is.

If you do want to tackle it, I would check out
[https://github.com/eskatos/creadur-rat-gradle|https://github.com/eskatos/creadur-rat-gradle/issues/28],
change the version of the rat dependency, and see if it still compiles and
whether the tests still succeed.

> Upgrade RAT to 0.17 when released

> We noticed that we dont have to maintain rat exclusions as by default
> git-ignore is considered for rat exclusions in 0.17
> see https://github.com/apache/geode/pull/7939
> >Hmm, ideally RAT should already ignore all files that are in .gitignore , I
> >wonder why that doesn't seem to be working for Geode. I suppose it may be
> >because the gradle-rat plugin is still at an earlier rat version
> >(eskatos/creadur-rat-gradle#28)
