Dave Barnes commented on GEODE-1202:
------------------------------------

[~nlamba] Please comment on these behaviors I've observed in Chrome and Firefox:

1. The Geode favicon does appear on the tab.
2. When I bookmark the page, the favicon appears on my bookmark list next to
the website name.
3. The favicon does not appear at the leftmost edge of the address field.

Item 3 didn't match my expectations, but it turns out my expectations were
wrong. Newer browsers have repurposed that position to reflect the nature of
the browser's connection to the site, e.g. https vs. conventional http (see
https://support.google.com/chrome/answer/95617?hl=en). This is true for both
Chrome and Firefox.

Likely conclusion: Not a bug - favicon appears where it should. Expectation was
outdated, based on older browser behaviors.
NB: Safari's conventions are different, it doesn't seem to display favicons for
any site in the situations I investigated.

> Nitin Lamba reports: the favicon seems to be broken - it used to show Pivotal
> green [P] but doesn't show anything now. You may want to use Geode icon -
> attached.
