OOo's solutions just takes the raw SVG data as a blob and displays its content via background rendering with the librsvg library. IMO exactly what you'd like to see. Please don't ignore that there are current differences between OOo and LO, especially with new features, and with the current code donation to Apache, both products won't have so much in common in the future, I suppose, but time will tell. So, please address your problems at the right project, you are working with. If this is LO, just go to the LO mailing lists/bugtracker.
