[~BenDDD]: The code will follow the normal review/commit process. When Mike is
ready, he will submit a pull request. That code will be reviewed by one or
more other members of the project team, then committed to the appropriate
branches. Because this JIRA issue is slated for the 1.1.0 release, it will go
to the staging/1.1.0 branch as well as the master branch.
