I posted it to freerdp and this is the basic response:
"from the {{xfreerdp}} help: {{+glyph-cache Enable Glyph
cache (experimental)}}
So, using that as default is a really BAD idea!"
"the glyph cache never worked reliably and we never invested the time to fix it
properly (documentation is not really good and it is not used in newer protocol
versions)
the other caches work as expected, but glyph is really an annoying beast better
not enabled."
