Just FYI, I've made some measurable, if slow, progress on this. I'm testing 
with Xspice at the moment, and I have the basics working - connection, display 
updates, keyboard and mouse input.

Several things left to do - lots of code to clean up and optimize, including 
support for streaming and OpenGL updates, along with file transfer, audio, and 
clipboard support.
