Not really, we could already use tableau manual sql just isn't very great end
user experience, as when using tableau obviously they expect all their drop
down ui wizards to just work.
By connecting to hcatalog db the intent or idea was that it would be like
connecting to hive from tableau, but by using the hawq execution for those
bits, where data hadn't been further etl'd into hawq native tables.
