Michael Andre Pearce (IG) commented on HAWQ-1108:
-------------------------------------------------
So the work [~jiadx] has done, which is all his own work, is quite well
contained, and should go in as is. I wouldn't want to hold that back in anyway.
I had at the time of writing Jira 583, been looking at the older pivotal field
engineering version when i created 583, until we had noticed later Devin's
jiras needed for his much improved version.
Once in, we can then look to pick up Devins work and either we can work
iteratively over versions improving taking further advantage of the newer
features available.
Im sure [~jiadx] might have his own views, as stated this is all his work,
currently. Im just pushing to get it in, so can make use of it, and possibly
extend it.

> We would like to add to Hawq Plugins a JDBC implementation.
> There are currently two noted implementations in the openly available in
> GitHub.
> 1) https://github.com/kojec/pxf-field/tree/master/jdbc-pxf-ext
> 2) https://github.com/inspur-insight/pxf-plugin/tree/master/pxf-jdbc
> The latter (2) is an improved version of the former (1) and also what
> HAWQ-779 changes were to support.
> [~jiadx] would you be happy to contribute the source as apache 2 license open
> source?
