Francis Liu commented on HBASE-8015:

Francis Liu Where would this happen? When would we have to have a ':', or a ','
in the fs given ns is a dir?
{quote}
There's currently there are three places right now.
1. HFileLink
a. HFile references require include the table name as part of the filename
b. back references include table name as well
2. Snapshot names
a. In current behavior as [~jesse_yates] pointed out. Valid table names are
valid snapshot names. Snapshots are stored on hdfs as a directory identified by
their names. Though I'm inclined not to support ':' as a valid character for
snapshot names so we can keep ':' as a special character?
