How do you define "new" here? I haven't tested it but I'm pretty sure this
wasn't an issue in 0.94.
bq. btw, I'm interested to know if you have the same issue when you activate
HBASE-7590 (it should work well).
It worked fine with HBASE-7590 once I fixed the class name in the release note
