[~saint....@gmail.com] Sorry for the noise, finally the hanging connections,
tablealreadyexistsexception, method not found... issues I had yesterday were
manifestations of badly configured envs. It works fine today (I had to define
the HBASE_CLASSPATH having the hbase-hadoop3-compat jar so it is found first on
the classpath).
Before committing, someone should test the patch on hadoop2/3 (works here, but
better double-check).
