We already have to worry about the order of attachment, its really not a big
deal. I'd rather see how this all comes together in a bigger patch, rather than
these little patches - makes it easier to get an idea of how it all will work
together. This has no use in and of itself - the others in your recent string
of improvements have made sense as standalone changes.
Maybe create a parent issue where you layout the all the changes you want to
make so we can talk about the best overall design?
