This is the idea for changing to Cells in the read path. Still there are some
places which this was not achieved. I will those tasks to this.

Yes. +1 on t his. HBASE-10772, HBASE-10773 are all those related to this. I
can link the related tasks to this JIRA to have a clear picture on the subtasks.
