Jean-Marc Spaggiari commented on HBASE-11692:
---------------------------------------------

I think user's question was more related to the logic behind doing manual
splits more than the way to do it. Like, under which use-case do we want to do
a manual split.

I'm not sure we want to document that deep.

> Document how to do a manual region split

> Subject: Why hbase need manual split?
> To: "[email protected]" <[email protected]>
> Hi, all,
> As I understand, HBase will automatically split a region when the region is
> too big.
> So in what scenario, user needs to do a manual split? Could someone kindly
> give me some examples that user need to do the region split explicitly via
> HBase Shell or Java API?
> Thanks very much.
> Regards,
> Ming
