I like 1-4 in above. Are you suggesting that RS implement M protocol and it
would answer questions about table schema? That seems confusing. Rather, I
like the idea that RS keeps warm knowledge of 'table' state so can be font for
table state rather than have clients ping pong off master. Good stuff.
