See this fairly often:

ExitCodeException chmod: 
/Users/stack/checkouts/hbase.git/hbase-server/target/test-data/7d3ae312-b36c-4c82-80ab-822cc4fa5751/WALs/hregion-䟌佣者蘞㪑ୗ¤/hregion-%E4%9F%8C%E4%BD%A3%EE%A3%A3%EF%AA%B2%E8%98%9E%E3%AA%91%F0%AD%97%A4.default.1416361963659:
 No such file or directory

Also, these files are being written under tmp rather than in data dir.
