@stack: the hbase version of this patch should be fine, but note that I'm
working on an hdfs bug where the dynamic JMX metrics don't show up with the
public hadoop jar but do with our internal jar. Give me a little more time
here to figure out the problem and clean some small stuff up on David's
original patch.
