That's correct, the compat guide allows for removing the deprecated
hbase-server version in 2.0.0, which is the current version in master.
Is there a particular reason you're looking to do this sooner rather than
later? I presumed we'd do a review of things deprecated in 1.0.0 when 2.0 got
closer.
