Anoop Sam John commented on HBASE-14092:
----------------------------------------

May be from the options specified for the HBCK run it can be found out whether
the lock and switch is needed (with out explicit ask by user)?

On the patch nits
bq.private static boolean switchBalancer = true; // do we use the hbck
exclusivity lock
Copy paste comment :-)
-noBalanceSwitch -> or call it -noBalancerSwitch?

> Add -noLock and -noBalanceSwitch options to hbck

> HBCK is sometimes used as a way to check the health of the cluster. When
> doing that it's not necessary to turn off the balancer. As such it's not
> needed to lock other runs of hbck out.
> We should add the --no-lock and --no-balancer command line flags.
