On the above failures, the checkstyle is a complaint about a method being too
long (can't do anything more about this unrelated method in this patch), the
findbugs are mostly addressed in this patch... there may be one outlier, and
the failed tests are permissions problems... which do not repro locally. Notion
is get this in as is and then if issues still remaining post commit I can work
on them separately (findbugs or perms).
