Reading the explanation of the problem makes my head spin.
Looking at the code... It seems the Master's log splitting is always
synchronous, followed by assigning root/meta. So if the Master does the
splitting there is no race, correct?
The problem you describe is with ServerShutdownhandler. I'm having a little bit
a hard time when exactly that is triggered. From the ZK node-deleted event?
