I accidentally posted an Abstraction of the patch based on the old code of a
year ago instead of creating a new one on the current code. HBASE-15354 is
where the exception types were removed. Also HBASE-15658 changes were not
included which was the probable cause for the failure. So in those issues the
reasons for the changes can be found :)
