The only changes in Avro 1.8 marked incompatible that I think might impact
folks are AVRO-1502 and AVRO-997. From a quick glance at the Avro serialization
implemented in HBASE-15334 it looks like it does not handle Avro Enum's
correctly and AVRO-997 will cause it to fail.
