[~anastas] thanks, but I am trying to be a user of this feature, and without
config knobs, or what exactly to do in the table schema, or whatever, I am
lost. I don't want to comb these large jira commentaries looking for such. Can
you (or [~ram_krish] or [~anoop.hbase] or anyone else from your team) please
take a look at this aspect. This feature (HBASE-14918) seems promising but
without docs and such it's not usable.

This makes me worried too. Has this been addressed?
[~ram_krish] I strongly think this is a lot of code if you consider the
umbrella jira - HBASE-14918, and think this really should have been done in a
branch, especially given concerns like "temporary performance regression"
