stack resolved HBASE-15789.

Resolution: Fixed
Reapplied (FYI [~anoop.hbase]).
Add a clean of generated and com/google/protobuf dirs as first step so when
comes time for the patch to run, it'll work even if the src is already patched.
Seems to fix build.
