+1 on the patch in general. I wouldn't want to get it in branch-1.3 right now
_purely_ because I want to limit the commit stream to branch-1.3 as much as
possible and this is not a bugfix.
Would really appreciate [~carp84] if you file a backport jira for that (so this
one could be closed), and I'ld be happy to cherry-pick later for 1.3.1. Would
it work?
